Getting ready to gaze

It’s been WAY too long since I had the motivation to get my scope out. Today changed that.

I’ve been thinking about getting the scope out more so I can enjoy the stars. I pulled out the ETX-90 today, made sure the Autostar 497 was up to date, and spent some time reviewing how to use the scope. I also tested the scope connection to my MacBookPro and had no issues. When I started SkySafari, I saw that the last time I updated that was October 2010.

I took the scope out to the mall parking lot at 3:30pm to zero in the red dot sight on the LNT. All went well. I was going to stargaze tonight , but clouds rolled in around 4:30pm. Looks like 4/9 will be the next possible night to get out.
